Integrated Wireless Solutions Automate Enterprise-Wide Communications
ALEXANDRIA, Va. and MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- USA Mobility, Inc. (Nasdaq: USMO) and Amcom Software, Inc. today announced a sales and marketing alliance in which the companies will leverage their respective technologies to provide advanced automated wireless communication capabilities to healthcare organizations. As part of the agreement, both sales organizations will co-market, co-sell and provide referrals for their mutual products. Healthcare facilities benefit with a complete, integrated wireless and communication center technology to automate day-to-day and emergency communications within a multi-facility hospital network.
"Effective communication is the number one factor in patient safety," said Mark Garzone, executive vice president of marketing for USA Mobility. "By partnering with Amcom, we are able to provide hospitals with a complete technology solution that addresses important and timely organization-wide concerns including effective, accurate communications and faster emergency response time."
As part of a pilot project last fall, USA Mobility and Amcom completed an integrated solution for Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Duke's goal was to link all of its medical center's facilities with its private messaging system so that communications throughout the entire network were fully redundant for emergency and disaster preparedness. USA Mobility and Amcom solutions seamlessly integrated both systems to effectively and efficiently meet Duke's communications needs.
"Our customers are asking for integrated technology solutions," said Jack Collins, chief executive officer of Amcom. "Healthcare executives deal with life and death and can't afford the risk of ineffective communications. Together with USA Mobility, we will be able to pave new ground in how integrated technology solutions can greatly improve efficiencies and productivity and, most importantly, save lives."
Amcom applications, including Smart Console, Smart Web and Smart Speech, are linked to a one central database, supporting operator services by automating processes, accelerating response time and improving enterprise-wide communication efficiencies. Amcom e.Notify is designed for business continuity and disaster recovery by providing automated event notification, response processing and escalation for emergencies and other mission critical communications needs.
Complementing Amcom's central platform and software for automated enterprise-wide communications, USA Mobility provides pagers and other wireless devices and solutions to the healthcare market. The Company offers traditional one-way and advanced two-way paging, along with voice and data services through Sprint Nextel, including Blackberry and GPS location applications.
Amcom provides mission-critical communications technology solutions for organizations that depend on speed, accuracy, and productivity to support day- to-day business continuity and event-driven communications.
