“We are excited to bring together some of the industry’s leading innovators who are pushing the boundaries to advance and improve healthcare communications,” said Vincent D. Kelly, chief executive officer and president of Spok Holdings, Inc. “We are particularly pleased to showcase what we believe is a game-changer in healthcare communication technology; the next generation of the Spok Care Connect platform. Our collaboration with hospital leaders at these conferences—and throughout the year—has helped us create an enterprise platform that positions healthcare providers for success today and supports them with faster, smarter clinical communications for the next decade.”

Dr. Chris Snyder, chief quality officer and physician advisor for Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC), spoke alongside Darrell Messersmith, vice president of information technology and chief information officer for Vail Health, during the opening session. The pair shared how they collaborated with Spok product developers to help shape the next evolution of the Spok Care Connect® platform. Clinical teams at PRMC and Vail were early users of the company’s new cloud-based solutions, which support faster, easier, more actionable care team communications.

In addition to a full agenda of presentations, Connect 18 features sessions on how hospitals are moving contact center functions beyond the switchboard to support clinical teams, why hospitals need a communication platform in addition to the EHR, and how to use technology to help manage alarm fatigue. The conference also offers insight from Spok customers who present case studies on topics such as reducing code response times and streamlining sepsis response to reduce mortality rates.

“Our Spok customer family grows every year. We now support more than 1,900 hospitals across the nation who care for more than 150 million patients a year,” adds Hemant Goel, president of Spok, Inc. “Connect is another way we partner with our customers to ensure we are supporting their goals to deliver the highest quality of care and improve patient outcomes.”

Updates from the conference are posted to the SpokTwitter feed.
